The recently completely renovated house, some of which is over a hundred years old, combines traditional charm with modern comfort. When designing and furnishing the holiday home, emphasis was placed on the use of natural materials.
The bedroom and living room are located in the old part of the house, which is built in the traditional natural stone style. Both rooms are connected by a lockable door. The kitchen and bathroom are in the newer part of the house. All rooms have direct access to the garden terrace.
The bedroom is furnished with a 1.80 metre wide double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. The living room has a 1.60 m wide sofa bed, armchair, chest of drawers and a flat-screen TV with satellite reception. A good internet connection is also available, with WLAN and LAN connections in all rooms.
The patio leads to the bathroom and the kitchen in the newer part of the house. The kitchen is designed with a dining area, a sofa and a small covered terrace outside. It is fully equipped and has an electric hob, an oven and a large fridge. There is also a water filter for drinking water. The bathroom has a shower. A washing machine is also available.
The terrace in front of the house is nestled in the small tropical garden with avocado, orange, lemon, banana and papaya trees. A roof terrace with sun loungers invites you to relax.

Casa Pura Vida is located in the original, rural part of Valle Gran Rey, in the neighbourhood of local families and their gardens. Only rarely does anyone walk past the hidden house. It combines the retreat of relaxation with authentic Gomerian life. A typical Canarian mountain restaurant, the Bar Bodegón La Vizcaina, is a 5-minute walk away. A small supermarket can also be reached on foot in about 15 minutes. The enchanting little footpaths of the valley invite you to stroll and explore.
It is best to hire a car if you are staying at Casa Pura Vida. However, the local bus service also makes it possible to get down to the sea and the beaches or up to the nature park. There is a bus stop just a few minutes' walk from the house. There are also taxis in Valle Gran Rey, including a night taxi. But it is certainly easiest to hire a car.
Arrival:
Most guests will probably arrive via Tenerife South Airport. La Gomera also has an airport, but not for international flights.
From Tenerife airport you have to go to the harbour in Los Cristianos, from where you take the ferry to La Gomera, to the harbour of San Sebastian, the capital of La Gomera. The journey to the port in Los Christianos takes about 25 minutes. You can take the bus, a taxi or hire a car, which you can pick up directly at the airport, for the journey to Gomera and for the whole holiday.
From San Sebastian on La Gomera, you can then take the bus, a taxi or your own hire car to Valle Gran Rey, where Casa Pura Vida is located. The journey by car takes about an hour. It is longer by bus. We will either pick you up from the bus stop or meet you near the house if you arrive by hire car.
A good and easy way to get from Tenerife airport to La Gomera is with the bus company Mesa. They will pick you up at the airport and take you directly to Valle Gran Rey. They also take care of the ferry tickets. You can book this service via the bus company's website, but you should do this at least 2 weeks before your arrival.
Car hire:
If you would like to hire a car, it is best to do so directly on arrival in San Sebastian on La Gomera. The car should be booked online in advance. Especially in the high season, you should do this when you book your flights, otherwise the hire cars may already be fully booked.
In some cases, it is a good idea to hire the car in Tenerife, e.g. at the airport, and then take it with you to Gomera, for example if you want to spend a few days on Tenerife. Please enquire with your provider in advance whether taking the car with you is permitted, as many car hire companies do not allow you to take the hire car to other islands.
